In a significant step toward integrating advanced technologies into coastal agriculture and allied sectors, ICAR–Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Business Kendra, a Kerala-based tech venture specializing in sensor-based IoT and machine learning solutions.
Under this collaboration, sensor-driven decision support tools developed by Business Kendra and its partners will be evaluated, calibrated, and optimized by ICAR-CCARI. These tools aim to deliver real-time insights, automate field operations, and address critical challenges in coastal ecosystems, thereby enhancing agricultural, fisheries, and allied practices in resource-constrained coastal regions.
Highlighting the initiative, Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, emphasized the importance of AI and automation in transforming Indian agriculture, aligning with the national vision of becoming a global leader in AI-enabled agriculture by 2047 as envisioned by the Hon’ble Prime Minister.
The Institute Technology Management Unit (ITMU) was recognized for facilitating this strategic partnership.
